Chester Bennington, the lead artist of rock band Linkin Park, was discovered dead on Thursday at his southern California home in an obvious suicide, the Los Angeles County Coroner's office said.
Coroner's office representative Brian Elias said his office had been advised by law implementation of the passing of Bennington, 41, on Thursday morning. Elias said the demise was being taken care of as an obvious suicide.
Big name site TMZ, referring to law requirement sources, said Bennington had hung himself at his Palos Verdes home close Los Angeles.
Linkin Park vocalist Mike Shinoda tweeted "Shocked and heartbroken, but it's true. An official statement will come out as soon as we have one."
Bennington had a background marked by liquor and drug abuse. He had talked straightforwardly in the past about his battles to defeat his evil presences when Linkin Park initially discovered accomplishment in 2000 with the collection "Hybrid Theory." But in 2011 he said he had been calm for a long time.
The band's most recent studio collection, "One More Light," was discharged in May, and Linkin Park set out on a world visit.
Bennington's death came seven days before the band was due to kick off the U.S. leg of its visit on July 27 in Mansfield, Massachusetts.
Bennington, who was twice married and had six kids, was a dear companion of Soundgarden front man Chris Cornell, who submitted suicide in Detroit in May.
Fans noted on Thursday that Bennington had evidently taken his own particular life on what might have been Cornell's 53rd birthday.
Bennington posted a passionate note on his web-based social networking accounts after Cornell's death. "I'm still weeping, with sadness, as well as gratitude for having shared some very special moments with you and your family," he composed.
Linkin Park's introduction collection "Hybrid Theory" included hits, for example, "In the End," "One Step Closer" and "Crawling," which won a Grammy grant in 2002 for best hard rock performance.
The band explored different avenues regarding rock, metal and rap, most strikingly working together with Jay-Z in 2004 on the "Collision Course" collection. The collection, a concoction of the rapper's hits with Linkin Park tunes, included "Numb/Encore," which won a Grammy grant in 2006 for best rap/sung collaboration.
The band has sold more than 70 million collections around the world.
