Turkey nightclub attack: Dozens killed after attacker opens fire

Thirty-five individuals were killed and 40 injured in an assault in a dance club early Sunday as they were commending the new year, Istanbul senator Vasip Sahin said. 

Sahin called the episode "a fear assault." 

The assailant, who has not yet been recognized, opened fire inside the top of the line Reina dance club in the bustling Besiktas neighborhood of Istanbul, as indicated by Turkish state-run news organization Anadolu. 

One casualty said as he was pushed into an emergency vehicle that he didn't know what number of aggressors there were, however he saw one individual and stowed away. 

"I got shot in the (swearword) leg, man," he told writers. "These insane individuals came in shooting everything." 

There have been no cases of duty. 

The late rush of fear monger assaults in Turkey have left many individuals watchful. 

"This attack is, of course, a horrible development, but not shocking to many Turks who chose to stay inside this New Year's Eve," said Aykan Erdemir, former member of the Turkish Parliament.

"Turkey is known to have these enormous gatherings to observe New Year's, however this year most residents were careful about Islamist assaults so they praised it at home with their companions." 

He said the assault appeared to be like what happened at the Bataclan, a Paris show lobby that was assaulted by shooters in 2015. 

"This is an assault on the Western way of life. This is an assault on Turkey's common, urban method for living. Also, this will basically fuel the continuous social conflicts, the progressing polarization in Turkey," Erdemir said. 

Turkey has seen numerous assaults as of late. On December 10, a couple of bombings in Istanbul slaughtered 44 individuals, including 37 cops, and injured 155 others. The two blasts happened after an intensely went to soccer match at Besiktas Vodafone Arena.
